Our Programmes

Community-Based Child Protection

We provide case management services for refugee children at risk, ensuring access to psychosocial, educational, and protection support. Cases are assessed through structured intake, including INA and BID processes with UNHCR.

Community Focal Points (CFPs)

HOST trains refugees to become Community Focal Points (CFPs) who bridge gaps between communities and services. They assist in outreach, referrals, and community leadership development.

Outreach and Protection

HOST works with refugee communities outside of the Klang Valley, providing information sharing sessions on protection related issues, referrals support and education support for community learning centres.

Alternatives to Detention

We advocate for refugee rights through field-based evidence and national-level engagement. One focus is Alternatives to Detention (ATD), promoting community-based care instead of immigration detention.

Engagement with Baitul Mahabbah Centres

HOST runs support programmes together with the immigration department for detained mothers and children at Baitul Mahabbah Darulaman. We also coordinate NGO access and provide structured activities that promote care and learning.

Empowering Refugee Community-Based Organizations

We support refugee-led groups like Penang Refugee Network (PRN) and Project Stand Up (PSU) by strengthening their capacity to lead. Through funding, training, and governance support, we help them grow into sustainable, independent organisations.

Social Enterprise: Rebirth by Refugees

Rebirth empowers refugee women through sewing and product development using local batik and upcycled materials. HOST supports the artisans with training, marketing, and business coordination.
